Sexual Misconduct Policy
The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio is committed to maintaining a learning and working environment that is free from discrimination based on sex in accordance with Title IX of the Higher Education Amendments of 1972 (Title IX), which prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in educational programs or activities; Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Title VII), which prohibits sex discrimination in employment; and the Campus Sexual Violence Elimination Act (SaVE Act), Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), and Clery Act. As defined in the policy, sexual misconduct is broadly defined to encompass sex discrimination, sexual harassment, sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, stalking, and other inappropriate sexual conduct. Sexual misconduct, retaliation, and other conduct prohibited under this policy will not be tolerated and will be subject to disciplinary action.
The health science center will promptly discipline any individual or organization within its control who violate this policy. The university encourages any student, faculty, staff or visitor to promptly report incidents and/or violations that could constitute violations of this policy to the Title IX Coordinator.
